The Roles of a Woman

I am mother, wife, daughter, employee,
I am sister, lover, friend, but seldom am I me.

As Your child, Lord, You have moulded me,
A woman of diversity for everyone to see.

I give comfort, praise, tenderness and love,
Gifts from You, Father, received from heaven above.

Like a vessel of strength with flowers for all, but when the vase
keeps crashing down, the tears begin to fall.

Without You, Lord, I am but a fragile dove,
Strength gained only through my faith and Your love.

Of all the wonderful roles You have me play,
I must not loose sight in Your will, in Your way.

I cannot forget the real me,
For it is only the bare child that You see.

Guide me, Oh Father God, through this life of mine,
Only then can I sincerely and truly shine.
